New Canaan (CT) scored a goal with 1:20 remaining to earn a close 8-7 victory over homestanding Farmingdale (NY) last Saturday, April 20. Trailing 6-5 after the first half, the Rams were able to hold the Dalers to only one goal in the second en route to the victory. Check out the video on the right for game highlights.

Futures Select Lacrosse Partners With Sportsrecruits.com

Lacrosserecruits.Com To Provide Comprehensive Recruiting Packages & Exclusive Video Coverage At 2013 Futures Events Futures Lacrosse and SportsRecruits.com have reached an agreement to make SportsRecruits.com the official video provider at Futures Select events this summer, it was announced today. The Futures Select events will be held in two sessions this July. “We look forward to working with SportsRecruits.com to teach and promote young women lacrosse players from around the country,” says Futures Lacrosse founder MAC FORD. “Through the use of video, we feel we have a connection in helping players increase their lacrosse IQ while benefiting them in the recruiting process." SportsRecruits.com, US Lacrosse’s Official Service Provider for Recruiting, will be on site at both Futures Select events this summer to provide comprehensive recruiting packages and video coverage. “We are excited to assist Futures Lacrosse by providing recruiting packages and video coverage,” said SportsRecruits.com Co-Founder MATT WHEELER. “Our goal with the recruiting packages we develop for the participants is to give the players the tools and video they need to properly market themselves to their target list of schools.” ...

The first session of the Baltimore Summer Kickoff took place Friday, June 14 through Sunday, June 16. On Saturday night, two All-Star games were played, comprised with some of the best players from the day’s action. Over 50 coaches lined the sidelines to take in the action, including some big names like Virginia’s Dom Starsia and Denver’s Bill Tierney. Other schools with an on-field presence from the DI ranks included Hopkins, North Carolina, Ohio State, while the DIII scene was also strongly represented by national powers Stevenson, Gettysburg and Amherst. The second All-Star game played was for members of the 2015 and 2016 classes. Check out the video for some highlights of the action.

The Week Ahead: Boy’s High School Lacrosse

Last week, the boy’s high school season featured some great games, highlighted by Ward Melville’s (NY) big win over Garden City (NY) on Saturday in a Long Island non-league matchup and Boys’ Latin (MD) taking down Gilman (MD) in an MIAA battle on Friday. Also in the MIAA, McDonogh (MD) picked up a huge win yesterday over Calvert Hall (MD). This week is extremely busy, with plenty of great games. ...

The Week Ahead: Girl’s High School Lacrosse

Last week girl’s high school action was highlighted by some big matchups, including two big interstate battles. Manhasset (NY) traveled to New Jersey and took down Summit (NJ), 11-8. Meanwhile, New Canaan (CT) traveled to Long Island and defeated Farmingdale (NY) by an 8-7 count. It was a big week for Mendham (NJ), who took down Chatham (NJ) on Thursday before defeating Ridgewood (NJ) on Saturday and West Morris (NJ) Monday to push their record to 7-3. Meanwhile, McDonogh (MD), St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (VA) and Moorestown (NJ) all remained undefeated. This week features some great matchups with powerhouse teams. ...

Boy’s High School Weekend Recap: April 22

The weekend in the boy’s high school landscape was highlighted by a couple of big games between some of the best teams in the country. On Long Island, there was a huge non-league contest pitting one of the best in Nassau County against one of the best in Suffolk as Garden City (NY) traveled to Ward Melville (NY). In a tight defensive battle, the 631 area code came out on top, as the Patriots defeated the visiting Trojans, 7-3. As we noted in our game observations last week, Melville’s defense has been impressive this season. They continued their solid play Saturday, holding Garden City to just three goals while the team’s offense went on a 4-0 fourth-quarter run to break a 3-3 deadlock. A huge win for the Patriots, who are one of the best teams in the country thus far at 9-0. Garden City fell to 6-2. ...

Girl’s High School Weekend Recap: April 22

Last week in girl’s high school lacrosse was highlighted by a big interstate matchup. On Saturday, Manhasset (NY) traveled to face Summit (NJ) and took home a big 11-8 victory. The Indians moved to 7-1 on the season, with their only loss coming to undefeated Garden City (NY). Summit fell to 7-2. Also in New Jersey, Mendham (NJ) took down visiting Chatham (NJ) on Thursday, 10-6. The Minutemen then followed that with a huge victory over Ridgewood (NJ), 9-8 in double overtime, to push their record to 6-3. Meanwhile, Moorestown (NJ) had another dominant 3-0 week to move their record to 9-0. The Quakers have scored at least 14 goals in each of their victories this season. ...
