Reid Russell

I have played soccer since I was 3 but I didn’t become a goalkeeper until I was about 11. Now, I thrive on high-pressure situations such as shoot-outs. In fact, as a freshman, I was pulled up to Varsity for the State Playoffs as a PK Specialist. I am unique as I have had continuously fight to get where I am, both academically and athletically. I have been in gifted classes since I was little, but I have dyslexia and dysgraphia, which means I work differently than most other students. In February, I tore my meniscus in 2 places and missed the rest of my high school and club seasons. I did PT and continued to go to the gym daily, so I was back on the field nearly a month ahead of schedule. Working to come back from this injury and has helped me see how much soccer means to me.
