Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Joslyn Torres and I am 16-year-old junior at South San Antonio high school. I am the youngest sibling of 4; despite being the only girl, I am also the toughest. Ever since I was a young girl, I have always enjoyed playing sports. Whether for fun or for competition, sports has always been a healthy outlet for me to express myself. However, “loss” is a word I prefer to keep out of my vocabulary. I originally began my sports career by playing basketball. I like to consider it my first love but volleyball has become a close second. From the teamwork dynamics, to the graceful techniques, volleyball is something I can see myself pursuing at a collegiate level. I am very grateful to be blessed with such an opportunity, and am eager to grow not only as an athlete, but as a person.
