Personal Statement
My name is Helaina Edgar. I am a 2024 Setter and I have been playing volleyball for 6 years. I used to do gymnastics which is what I thought I would do in college but then I started volleyball, and gymnastics became less relevant. When I started volleyball I was an outside hitter but slowly transitioned into a setter after the first year and a half. I have loved setting ever since. Volleyball means a lot to me due to the fact that it is my therapy. There have been many days that I have come into the gym and not been in the best mood but volleyball always changes that. I have made not only friends but family during this sport. My teammates mean so much to me both on and off the court. I think it is very important to form a strong bond between your teammates and coaches.
