Personal Statement
My name is Daniel Harper-Araya and I am a high school junior in Austin, TX. I am an honor roll student and multi-sport letterman with a 3.8 GPA and 1350 SAT. 2025-2026 Team Captain and MVP. I am very interested in pursuing a degree in international business and playing soccer in college. My passion for playing soccer and, more specifically, goalkeeping, began at an early age. I was born in Costa Rica, where soccer is part of the national identity and everyday life. Although I moved to the U.S. at an early age, I grew up looking up to Keylor Navas and watched in awe as he led the national team to the World Cup quarter finals in 2014. This inspired me to not only become a goalkeeper but also to be the best player I can be.
