To Our Team, Our Users, and Our Community,

“If you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”

Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

We would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the disturbing events sweeping the nation. The murders of George Floyd and Ahmed Arbury are unacceptable. They make us question morality and civility. They make us feel like progress towards a just world may be out of our reach.

We built SportsRecruits around a group of people who exhibit “doing the right thing” as a core value in their lives. Our team is humble, responsible, and empathetic. We have a team that believes life is better because sports can give opportunity and unify people. We believe our community is committed to the same social mobility and unification sport provides as well. We challenge each of you to take the passion of empowering student-athletes to help people who may not look like you, come from your background, or believe the things you believe.

We need empathy more than ever. We need people who can help “do the right thing.” Please take a few minutes to read “Standing At The Crossroads” by former SportsRecruits member and PLL player, Jules Heningburg.

In the upcoming days, weeks, and months, please take extra time to climb inside of other’s skin and walk around in it.
