What are you most excited about with regards to your program?
A highly competitive group of girls athletically and academically.
What jumps out at you when recruiting? What do you look for in a player?
Athleticism
What are your “pet peeves” when recruiting?
Repeated fouls
What is the best way interested student-athletes should get in touch with you?
What should student-athletes avoid in their messaging to college coaches?
Long long emails. I appreciate information but not in essay form.
How would you describe your coaching style?
Competitive
Walk us through your timeline when recruiting a student athlete?
Watch them throughout their summers going into their sophomore and junior years, and the fall of their junior year.
What kind of players succeed at your program?
Gritty, non-flashy players
Tell us about your transition from lacrosse player to lacrosse coach.
My competitiveness on the field translated well to bringing out competitiveness in student athletes. My work ethic also helps me drive the girls to work hard.
What’s your recruiting strategy going into an event? After an event?
Watch everyone who emailed me and take notes on them. Take notes on other girls who stand out. After the event, I tend to email girls who have impressed me. If people email me asking for feedback, I try to give mainly positive feedback with some constructive feedback as well.
