Brianna Sacks (Niskayuna, New York/Niskayuna High School) has committed to play lacrosse at the University of Massachusetts.
UMass, ranked 17th nationally in the most recent IWLCA Division I Coaches’ Poll, is 7-2 thus far this season, including a 4-0 mark at home. The team, coached by Angela McMahon, competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Last season, UMass finished 19-2, reaching the first round of the NCAA tournament. They went undefeated in conference play at 7-0, and beat George Washington (semi-finals) and Richmond (finals) to win the A-10 Championship for the fourth consecutive season. The streak dates back to 2009.
A player who lines up at both Midfield and Attack, Sacks brings an impressive skillset to UMass. The New York product has an excellent offensive presence. She dodges with her head up and shows the ability to draw the defense and find the open player. She also has good finishing ability inside.
At the midfield, she uses her speed well during transition, both offensively and defensively.
Below is our Q&A with Brianna, who discusses her experience using SportsRecruits.com.
Where will you be playing your college lacrosse?
I have committed to the University of Massachusetts. I chose this school because I absolutely love the campus, and all of the coaches, and I especially love that I’m only about two hours from home so my parents could can to all of my home games.
How was your SportsRecruits.com experience?
SportsRecruits.com was a great experience, and very easy to use. They helped me from the start with setting up my video and my profile.

The SportsRecruits.com staff was extremely helpful throughout my process! Whenever I had a question, a staff member was always able to help me out.
What was the response of college coaches to your profile and video?
After I sent a college coach an email, it was easy for them to go back to my profile and watch my highlight video and read my information.
How did you use SportsRecruits.com to increase your exposure to college coaches?
It was an easy way for me to email coaches at all [of the] colleges I was interested in. The email would automatically include my profile information and my highlight video.
How do you think SportsRecruits.com gave you an advantage over your peers who tried to do it on their own?
I think SportsRecruits.com gave me an advantage over my friends because instead of having to wait to hand a DVD personally over to a coach while on a visit, I could just email them my video and information right when they asked for it.
