Here are just some of the many notable performances on the women’s side for games played the weekend of March 8-10, 2013.


2012 Women (HS Graduation Year)
Caroline Cordrey – Southern California – Fr. – Attack/Midfield
Cordrey recorded a team-high four goals in USC’s 18-12 setback at Stanford. On the season, she is third on the team in points with 25 (19G, 6A) while also recording five ground balls.

Kelsey Dreyer – Southern California – Fr. – Defense
Dreyer recorded four ground balls and three draw controls in the previously noted loss at Stanford. She ranks second on the team with 16 ground balls so far this season.

Chelsey Henderson – Villanova – Fr. – Midfield
Henderson recorded a goal and an assist in Villanova’s 16-7 victory over Mount St. Mary’s. On the season, she has seven points (5G, 2A), two ground balls, and one caused turnover.

Rachel O’Brien – Adelphi – Fr. – Attack
O’Brien tallied a game-high five goals and added two assists as Adelphi took care of Philadelphia University, 20-3. For the season, she ranks second on the team with 20 points (13G, 7A) while also recording four ground balls. She has started all four of the Panthers’ contests in 2013 and was named the NE-10 Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week on March 12.

Kelci Smesko – Duke – Fr. – Midfield/Attack
Smesko notched two goals as Duke defeated Georgetown, 11-10, for their sixth victory of the season. On the year, she currently ranks fifth on the team with 15 points (8G, 7A) to go along with three ground balls. She has started all seven of the Blue Devils’ games.

2011 Women (HS Graduation Year)
Meaghan Hess – Monmouth – So. – Attack
Hess had three goals and added a ground ball in Monmouth’s 12-5 victory over Sienna. On the season, she has five points (4G, 1A) and three ground balls.

Shauna Pugliese – Notre Dame – So. – Attack
Pugliese recorded an assist and one ground ball in Notre Dame’s 16-11 victory over Boston University. On the season, she has seven points (2G, 5A) for the Fighting Irish.

Rachel Vallarelli – UMass – So. – Goalkeeper
Vallarelli held Albany to eight goals in over 66 minutes of action as UMass defeated the Great Danes in overtime, 9-8. She has played and started all seven of the team’s contests, recording 37 saves and posting a 5-2 record.
