Division I

Division I is the highest level of collegiate competition, and is governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Division II

Division II is an alternative level of competition to DI, and is also governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Division II (also referred to as D2 or D-II) offers athletic scholarships, in addition to academic and need-based scholarships and grants.

Division III

Division III (also referred to as D3 or D-III) is the third-tier of NCAA athletic programs. D-III programs do not offer athletic scholarships, but do have the ability to offer academic and need-based scholarships and grants.

NAIA

National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is a collegiate governing body of athletics, and is an alternative to the NCAA. Member schools offer athletic scholarships.

NJCAA

National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is the governing body for many community colleges and junior colleges throughout the U.S. NJCAA athletic programs have the ability to offer various levels of athletic, academic and need-based scholarships.

CCCAA

California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) is governing body for athletic programs offered for community colleges in the state of California. Athletic scholarships are not offered at CCCAA colleges.
