Personal Statement
Aloha, my name is Tru Onitsuka. I’m currently a senior at Mililani High School. I started playing volleyball at the age of 5 with my mom and dad as my coaches until the age of 14. As I started playing my first year of club I was very determined to improve my volleyball skills, as well as, my mindset to be able to play in many uncomfortable positions. In the middle of my first year of club season I had the opportunity to get pulled up and travel with the 16s team as a libero. We played in the SCVA Summer Soiree tournament in California, where we won my first medal. I played 3 years of High school volleyball, and my coach gave me the role of being captain my last High School year. Ending my High School career I want to be in a college that will help me achieve my academic and athletic goals.
