Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Taliyah Martinez and I live just outside of Vancouver, BC on the west coast of Canada. I am committed to the University of Pittsburgh where I will continue my academic and athletic career while playing D1 lacrosse. I have played for Alliance Lacrosse, based out of California, since summer 2023 and I’ve loved having the chance to compete with the best teams in the nation. Recently, I was selected for the U19 Lacrosse Canada West NDTP that will be competing in the fall. Being from Canada, I have been playing box lacrosse since grade one. Box has taught me how to play through contact, stay calm under pressure, make quick decisions and to always keep my head up for a cutter to feed to or a cross check coming my way.
