Personal Statement
Hi, I’m Sophia Gianna Eckel, a goaltender with a passion for competing, growing, and giving back to the game I love. I currently play for the MN Jr. Whitecaps (Spring-OS) and Lakeville North High School, where I started 25 of 28 games as a freshman at the MN 2A level. I’ve been honored to be selected to attend multiple USA Hockey Development Camps, including the 2025 U15 National Camp (July 2025) and Eastern Selects (2024). I also volunteer with Ice Cats Hockey and MN Special Hockey to support young and adaptive athletes. I’m excited to explore college opportunities that allow me to continue playing hockey while pursuing a career in Physical Therapy.
