Personal Statement
Hi! I'm Shylah (Shay). Before volleyball, I played baseball from T-Ball until I was 15 playing competitively on an all boys travel team. I was a pitcher, which meant the majority of the pressure was on me to control the defense and keep my team in the game. I didn’t start to play volleyball until the 4th grade, but immediately fell in love with it. My first position was libero, then pin hitter, and finally setter. I believe my diverse athletic background has gotten me to where I am today, physically and mentally. Academically, I am a 4.0+ GPA student that loves science. I am planning on majoring in Marine Biology and Business. Outside of the gym/school, I am a huge movie nerd, play beach vball, travel, coach, bake, make art, and love hanging out with my friends.
