Ocean Pierce

I did 12 years of competitive gymnastics before switching to lacrosse and CrossFit in the fall of my sophomore year. I started lacrosse as a defender but in my first high school season, our goalie quit the week of our first game. I stepped up to the plate- becoming the varsity starting goalie. I knew that starting a new sport so late in the game already presented many challenges but switching positions provided its own set of growth and obstacles. Once club season came around, I switched back to defense because the fast-paced, direct teamwork and detailed footwork parts felt like I was finally breathing fresh air.
