Personal Statement
I believe the mental part of the game is equally, if not more, important than raw talent. It is the mental aspect of the game that has influenced my passion for pitching and playing shortstop. I have been a starter (at SS and RHP) on my high school varsity team since I was a freshman. My coaches can attest to my mental toughness, competitiveness, aggressiveness, and leadership on the field. I work extremely hard in the classroom and have a strong desire to play baseball in college at a high academic school where I can major in Finance. Last summer, I was accepted into Columbia University’s Investment Course which solidified my interest in pursuing this as a major. I feel strongly about giving back within my community and have done a great deal of community service work over the years.
