Melanie Chen

My name is Melanie Chen, and I’m a Junior at St. John’s School in Houston, Texas. Softball has taught me that failure is not something to fear but an opportunity to grow. Through relentless effort and mental toughness, I’ve learned to embrace changes, challenges, and push through adversity. When I first started, I faced stiff competition from more experienced teammates, but I wasn’t afraid to change and put in the hard work. That dedication earned me spots on both my school and travel teams. I thrive under pressure, whether on the mound or in clutch hitting situations. In addition to softball, I am passionate about debate and promoting equality of access to softball for all girls. I’m excited to bring my leadership, passion, and determination to your program.
