Aloha Coach, My name is Makena Tong and I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i. I currently attend University Lab School where I’m an honor roll student and two-sport athlete. Although volleyball is my primary sport, I also enjoy playing basketball. It’s a great change of pace and I like being able to represent my school and competing with my friends. Outside of sports life, I love going to the beach and spending time with family and friends. I have a deep appreciation for the people in my life, they help keep me grounded! I have always wanted to play in college but the pandemic has really reinforced my desire to compete at the next level.
