Personal Statement
I am a second-generation female (she/her) with mixed South Asian heritage, having grown up in Boston MA, Fort Collins CO, and Chicago IL. Since being introduced to volleyball in 5th grade, I have been mentored by my coaches and teammates to become a versatile and tenacious student athlete and team leader. I apply a growth mindset as a front row starter, and I have honed my leadership style as a team captain. As the first aspiring collegiate student athlete in my family, I seek a high academic and athletic environment as I value both opportunities equally. I am exploring schools that allow me to creatively combine my academic interests in chemistry, biology, math, and writing, and where I could make valued contributions to the success of their women’s volleyball program.
