Personal Statement
My dad gave me my first field hockey stick before I could walk. His mom played for Akron in the 1960s, his sister captained Akron’s NYS championship team in 1992, and now I am a four year varsity starter at Akron. Field hockey is my passion. I want to be the first in my family to play FH at the college level! Competitive gymnastics taught me about hard work and dedication at a young age. By fifth grade, I made the switch to field hockey devoting the same level of hard work and dedication to it. I love every minute of it! I take advantage of every chance I can to develop my skills and compete. Tommy Lasorda said, “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.” My determination makes anything possible.
