Personal Statement
I’m Lauren McCarthy, a junior at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, Florida—Class of 2026. I play Libero/DS for my school and my travel team, OTVA J 17-1 Will. Outside of volleyball, between my school and club seasons, I enjoy being an assistant coach for a middle school team that directly feeds into BKHS. After club season, I volunteer at Bishop Kenny’s volleyball camps, as well as at a sleepaway camp called Camp Wayfarer. As a counselor, I’ve been able to strengthen my leadership skills and grow in my responsibilities as a role model. I’m hoping to find a college where I can keep growing—both on the court and in the classroom—surrounded by people who push me to be my best.
