Because the 2020-2021 school year was heavily affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic, I was also affected. My mental health took a turn for the worse which led me to become clinically depressed. Multiple times throughout the year, I was unable to get out of my bed (let alone complete work), inevitably letting my grades plummet. However, during the summer leading up to my junior year, I was supported by my therapist and psychologist. They aided me in rising from the wreckage that was my sophomore year. I have now been a junior for almost nine months, and my mental health and grades have both improved significantly. I may have taken a hit, but I’m coming back stronger than I was before-- academically, mentally, and athletically.
