Personal Statement
My love of baseball started as soon as I was old enough to play, as I soon found that I had some natural abilities (most notably with respect to pitching). I have learned that I thrive under pressure, and have also learned that I have the mental toughness, confidence, poise, determination, competitiveness and smarts to pitch well. I have also experienced my share of bad outings, but have the ability to bounce back and learn. All of these traits have led to coaches identifying me as a leader, and have helped me in other areas of my life. My experiences in baseball have taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance and learning from failure. I am always working to get stronger and throw better. I work equally hard in school and have maintained a high GPA.
