Personal Statement
My name is Isla and I am a midfielder, but can play anywhere on the field. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be an athlete and competitor. Recent feedback from coaches: “Determination is exactly what I noticed first about your play. You see it early and push yourself to be a part of it. From fighting for a ball off the draw to grinding it out in your ride, you never quit.” “You use your athleticism and your IQ to make plays. You are gritty, tenacious and versatile.” And, “You have the ability to take over a game. Your heart, competitiveness and hustle is always evident.” In 2024, I was awarded Defensive Player of the Year, All New England Honorable Mention and EIL All-Star. I was also selected for the MA/RI Team: 2024 USA Lax Tournament and American Select MA Team.
