Personal Statement
My athletic philosophy? "There may be people that have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do." ~ Derek Jeter. As a freshman it was my goal to letter in basketball and softball, so every practice, I viewed as a tryout. I'm thankful that I had amazing coaches who acknowledged my hard work in awarding me my letters. They continue to help me grow and have taught me that I don't always have to be the loudest or hit the most home runs to lead. Leadership means trying your hardest and lifting your teammates to be the best they can be. It means gathering your varsity teammates to cheer on the JV team. I am hoping that beyond my goal of playing in college, the lessons I learn as an athlete will serve me well as I pursue a career in criminal justice.
