Personal Statement
I’m Derek Rodriguez-Castro, and I attend St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, MD. Through soccer, I have learned valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, commitment, and resilience, all of which I believe are crucial for succeeding at the collegiate level. My favorite subjects are Math and History. I am committed to bring the same discipline, passion, and effort that I put in soccer into my academic work. My goal is to be a strong asset to any program that values hard work, dedication, and a team-first mentality. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to a collegiate soccer team, that will foster growth to become a whole person – spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially.
