Personal Statement
My name is Avery McCallister. I attend Kings High School in Shoreline, WA. I have been playing volleyball for 5 years, focusing on my position as a setter during most of that time. In 2019, I had corrective surgery for severe scoliosis. While my volleyball journey has been anything but traditional due to a long rehab and covid closures, I have learned great lessons about resilience, consistency, and hard work. I have learned about the importance of team chemistry for team success and consider myself a great leader and unifier on the court. I believe that a volleyball team cannot succeed without each player putting the team first and caring about their teammates and their success, on and off the court.
