Personal Statement
My name is Avery Byrnes, and I attend The Potomac School in McLean, Va in the class of 2026. Freshman year, I played volleyball for my high school JV team and quickly fell in love with the sport. I was the starting middle blocker and decided to try out for club where I made the top team for EC Power DC - 15's Shock. I began as third middle and quickly made my way to be a starter. Our team won the American division at NEQ in Philadelphia, earning us a bid to Nationals in Chicago. This upcoming club season I will be playing at a higher level in the open division with Virginia Elite 16. Academically, I take all advanced classes at a very challenging private school with a GPA of 3.4.
