Avalene Smith

I started playing just before third grade in Maryland. When my dad retired from the Navy, we moved to Idaho where lacrosse isn't as abundant - but thanks to strong women leadership, it is getting bigger here. I enjoy the team camaraderie; I love the art to the game; and there is nothing better than stopping an attacker in her tracks thinking she is going to dodge by you. Since I was 10 I have been called Frank on the field because there were always too many Ava's on a team; it stuck. So if you hear my teammates shouting for Frank, that's me. I am not sure what I want to study in college yet, so for now I will study it all while playing lacrosse.
