Personal Statement
My name is Ava Moncada, I am currently a Junior at Westwood High School in Austin, Texas. I am a middle blocker on the Varsity volleyball team and led my team in blocks this school season. This year is my fourth club season at Roots Volleyball and I am on Roots 17 Blue. I am a part of the Environmental Club, Psychology Club, and National Honors Society. I am also the Communication Officer for Westwood’s Beach Volleyball Club. I would like to pursue a degree in the medical field and am interested in studying psychology or biology. Volleyball has been an outlet for me socially throughout junior high and high school and has taught me valuable lessons that extend beyond the court. I am passionate about the game and hope to play the sport that I love at the next level.
