Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Ava Merante. I’m a 2027 student-athlete from Marlton, NJ, attending Cherokee High School. I’ve loved the game since I started playing at age 6. I currently play for the Mystics Fastpitch 16U Select team as a third baseman, shortstop and outfielder. I earned Defensive MVP as a freshman, and during my sophomore year, I became the first underclassman to receive a varsity letter, play at the varsity level, and earn Offensive MVP. I train hard with multiple trainers for hitting, fielding, strength, and agility. Academically, I’m an honor roll student with a 3.7 GPA (4.3 weighted) and actively involved in various school clubs. I’m committed to continuing both my academic and athletic journey at the collegiate level.
