Personal Statement
My name is Ava Guerrero and I am a 5’9 OH/OPP from Laredo, TX. Since I was 8, I have been surrounded by the sport being that my mom was a coach and I had watched my older sister play for years. My love for the sport grew quickly and I soon began playing club volleyball. Being on a competitive team instilled a winning mindset as well as self-discipline and good sportsmanship. Playing volleyball year-round and traveling on most weekends meant finding a balance between sports, school, and my family. Although challenging, maintaining school while traveling for volleyball, doing homework on the road and managing my time are other qualities that helped my success. I look forward to what is in store for me with my athletic and academic goals in my years to come.
