Baseball has helped to shape the person I am today. It has taught me the value of hard work, handling pressure, and most importantly how to deal with failure. I am the type of person who likes going to practice just as much as playing the game. Teamwork is important to me, especially as a pitcher. There are days when a great defensive play by a teammate is exactly the push I need to do my best on the mound. I like getting the ball in a pressure-filled situation and testing myself against the best. I try to be a leader in the dugout by pumping up my teammates and having a positive attitude. As important as baseball is to me, I also value the importance of a great education so that I can use my personal and academic skills to find my path in life, whether it is on the field or off.
