Personal Statement
I have been an aggressive competitor as far back as I can remember. In sports (beating all the boys) and academics (getting the highest grades). Volleyball was not something that came naturally to me. I began playing volleyball in my freshman year of high school. I had never played but my coach encouraged me to try out for the team. I made the freshman team even though I looked like a baby giraffe out there. I didn't play much that season, but I learned a lot and started to fall in love with the sport. During the off-season, I practiced hard to get better. I spent a lot of time training with my father and watching volleyball games. That year I made the JV team and although I didn't meet my goal, I got better as a player and teammate. Playing college volleyball is my next big goal.
