Personal Statement
My name is Abigail Hughes. Volleyball has been my main sport since I was 7. I started getting serious about the sport when I was in 8th grade, knowing I wanted to play in college. I started playing club in 2nd grade and continued through the years moving to limited travel then full travel. I played in middle school for 7th and 8th grade. Currently in high school, I played on the freshman team, then JV, now varsity for 2 years. The past few years, I have been a DS/Libero for each team I have played on. The position gives me full perspective of the court and full leadership of the back row. Being a leader on and off the court is important to me because I can use my voice to support and motivate my teammates. I believe that is one of my strongest traits.
